Challenge
Native Snacks, creators of popped lotus seed snacks, had been in discussions with their manufacturer and completed some initial test productions for the launch of their core plant-based product.
They had an agreement from the manufacturer and needed to make sure their confidential information was protected. The three priorities for the brand were making sure their agreement protected their brand and product and enabled flexibility for future changes as the company grew.

Approach
When Native Snacks reached out to Young Foodies, we started with an initial call to gain as much background information as we could.
We then passed them on to our Legal partners, who jumped in, reviewing and amending the brand’s manufacturing agreement to ensure protection against the manufacturer using their product and clearly outlining future commercial usage and opportunities.
Results
Native Snacks took the amended contract to their manufacturers who signed the agreement.
They are still using this manufacturer and can take comfort in knowing that their brand and any current and future products are protected.

“Young Foodies’ Legal support was very helpful explaining terms and jargon in the contract that could guide us to make a clear decision of how we could negotiate points in the contract. Using their experience we understood what was normal and what needed to be changed and have now ot a contract that is fair for both parties.”
